Reunion Jitters

Anyone who has been to a class reunion knows there is a certain amount of anxiety associated with attending a reunion. As the reunion approaches your mind becomes flooded with thoughts.
- Will there be anyone there I know?
- What if my old boyfriend or girlfriend is there?
- What if nobody remembers me?
- What if I don't recognize classmates or remember their names?
- What if I run into someone I didn't get along with in school?
- I've put on weight. - I've gone gray. - I've lost my hair.
- I'm not that successful.

Relax! You are not alone in these thoughts. Everyone else is having the same exact thoughts and reunion jitters. Don't let these thoughts get in the way of attending our class reunion.

Bottom line is we have all changed. So what! You're not 17 anymore. The laws of gravity and time catch up with all of us eventually. Changes are an inevitable fact of life. Accept yourself for who you are. Be yourself. Celebrate life's changes. Relax and go and have a good time. Letting such negative thoughts impact your decision to attend may result in you missing out on a wonderful time.

Focus your thoughts instead on the positive aspects of attending. This is an opportunity to go out and have some fun, renew old friendships, catch up with each others lives, to celebrate your youth and feel young again (if only for a moment), to reminisce about the good old days, to share time with old friends while we are still able to, to celebrate our changes. You will quickly find that people are not there to judge you but are there for the same reasons you are -to have a great time and touch our past. It can be a wonderfully rejuvenating experience. When it is over we can take comfort in the fact that we have all changed, we've all gone down different paths in life but that we all still share a common bond and enjoy a good party.

Here's some tips to help you relax at our class reunion:

- Go with an attitude of having fun.

- Be yourself and be proud of who you are.

- Remember everyone has changed. You are not alone.

- It's perfectly ok to not remember somebody.
Our memories all fade. That's why name tags were invented!

We Need Volunteers for our Reunion

We are in need of several volunteers for our reunion.  I would prefer someone not part of our reunion so they won't miss out on enjoying themselves. If you have daughters, sons, cousins, grandparents, friends, that are at least 18 years of age we would so appreciate their help. The following are things we need help with:

Registration Table - We need at least (5) people to check in attendees and pass out the goodie bags and name badges. They would need to arrive by 4:00 P.M. and should be able to leave by 6:15 P.M. at the latest.

Memorbilia Table - We need someone to help sell school items and raffle tickets.
This person would also be responsible for drawing winning tickets all evening long and would need to arrive by 4:30 and stay most the evening till at least midnight. Dinner will be provided for them.

Driver - Due to the large number of attendees we will be using a second parking lot of a school that's adjacent to the Waterfall. It would be a long walk for some and I want to provide a shuttle to and from their cars. You just need a valid drivers license, no special CDL. This person will be paid for the evening, since they wouldn't be able to be part of the reunion and will be mostly outside driving.

Decorating Committee - We need a large decorating committee. If you plan on doing the PS duPont Tour then you wouldn't be able to help us decorate. We need to arrive at the Waterfall by 10:00 A.M. and spend a few hours. A lot will be going on at this time with the Coasters, Kathy Young, and the Band rehearsing, so it will be a little crazy. Please let me know if this is something you would like to do.

Please contact me either by phone (801)510-2775 or e-mail: reculver71@aol.com
